HHD Software's USB Monitor
« on: January 05, 2012, 03:25:53 pm »
Hello Everyone,

Can someone please comment on HHD Software's USB Monitor software (http://www.hhdsoftware.com/usb-monitor)? I'm looking to get heavy into USB development and am wondering if anyone has suggestions or comments on this.

I expect to port a lot of the knowledge gained from Jan's books and what I can learn from other tools to development centered around USB devices connected to Cortex-M3 embedded controllers.

Thanks!

Joe

I haven't used it, but I have links to a variety of analyzers here:

Thanks Jan.

If you want an idea for another book, I would recommend this as the development environment. This is where I'm headed. Note the Ethernet port as well as the USB ports.

If your simply doing Low/Full Speed USB 2.0 communications the following analyzer is wonderful!

http://www.totalphase.com/products/beagle_usb12/

GUI for Window, Linux and MacOS.

If your serious about doing USB development, I would say this is essential.  It has paid for itself many time over (and I have 2).  Found many problems I would have never found any other way.
