Jan - Thanks for starting this new forum.  I'm sure it will prove helpful to a lot of people, especially after the apparent shut-down of the USB-IF message board.  I also like that you're covering topics other than just USB (i.e. serial and parallel ports and ethernet).

I hope it proves successful, but without too much overhead and maintenance on your part.
