Creating a port dedicated to InpOut32 ?
« on: February 06, 2014, 04:19:46 am »
Hello everybody.

I want to "hide" a parallel port (on a PCI card) in the device manager, after installing it with the proper driver and reading "manually" its address, so it could further only be acessed via InpOut32, but it would not be seen by Windows (2000/XP) and could not be accessed as a standard port via the parallel driver in Win. Please don't ask why I want to do this ....

Is it possible ? Thanks for every (even negative) answer ; disabling the port in the device manager unfortunately disables the access via InpOut32 too ....

For what it's worth, I don't know of any way to do this.

I thought that this "trick" could avoid any "interference" by other processes running under Windows, which would try to take some control over the port ... but if it's not possible ... For example, I will at least perform the "DisableWarmPoll" explained in the Parallel Port section.
Thanks for the answer.
