Amount of data transferred by a mass storage device.

I was wondering if it's possible to find out how much data had been transferred to/from a mass storage device that was connected to a computer with windows.  Is this information logged somewhere?  The transfer amount would have to be available at some point before the transfer in order to estimate the transfer time for the progress dialog.  Thanks for your help.

Do you mean you are looking for way to determine how much data a drive received after any transfer to the drive (a user copies a file via Windows Explorer, an application writes data to the drive, etc.)? I don't know of any way an application can get this information from the mass-storage driver directly.
