Parallel port write capture
« on: June 15, 2012, 01:00:26 pm »
I would like to capture the data that I write to my PCIe parallel port card. My parallel port keeps failing on me and I would have to power cycle the same to bring it back. I need to know whats going on inside. I tried using Portmon. It is able to recognize the parallel port but it does not seem to capture any data. Are there alternatives to Portmon?

A hardware solution is to use a parallel/serial converter and read the data on the serial port (which can be a USB/serial adapter). Both ports can be on the same machine.
