Hi All,
I am having to interface some boards that use TTL levels to RS232 level on a PC. I have wired up a MAX232 chips to which I can give RS232 inputs and get TTL out (pins 8 & 9 with 12 & 13) this gives me a nice TTL level. Can this TTL voltage be put into TTL inputs also on the chip to generate an RS232 output? I tried this as I have reason to belive the IrDA boards are the source if trouble so I wanted to ensure my circuit was working.
Thanks Glenn

Yes, sure.

Ahh! Dang, it appears as though I can send data via the Max but not read the TTL-> RS232 something isn't working!!!!

Don't forget that most of the converter chips also invert.
