Title: rs232 to rs485

hi,
i want to design a rs232 to rs485 converter ckt.. i found 1 schematic here-

the circuit seems to be very simple using just transistor for auto enable. but i dont get how it works... need help urgrntly regarding this...

eagerly awaiting any reply regarding this..
