Title: Reading the parallel port addresses from the BIOS (or registry) for plugin cards
Post by: cappy2112 on May 23, 2013, 06:29:46 pm
Does anyone know why this technique does not work for plugin parallel port cards?

http://logix4u.net/parallel-port/43-how-to-read-parallel-serial-port-address-from-bios (http://logix4u.net/parallel-port/43-how-to-read-parallel-serial-port-address-from-bios)

If the address shows up in Control Panel, there should be a way to extract it from the registry.
I don't know how to do this though.

Thanks

The devcon utility shows how to obtain information displayed in Device Manager.
